“It’s just a joke. It’s just not my thing.” – H.R. McMaster
A top Trump administration official who worked with former national security adviser Michael Flynn in the run-up to the inauguration says the president is not a fan of his job, but he won’t quit.
“He’s the president of the United States,” McMaster told The Washington Post.
“And I do not intend to leave.”
McMaster’s comments come as former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn was forced to resign amid revelations that he had misled Vice President Mike Pence and others about his communications with the Russian ambassador during the transition period.
Flynn resigned after it was revealed that he discussed sanctions with the ambassador and misled Pence about his conversations with the Russians.
Flynn pleaded guilty to lying to the FBI and was sentenced to six months in prison, which he served concurrently with a fine.
